Creative Dance
"I can dance"

The element body studies body parts:
Hands, head, shoulders, knees, feet, arms, legs…
How can they move? How can they move us?

The element force is about energy:
strong and gentle, sudden and gradual, movement and stillness

Space takes us through space, kinesthetic sphere,
directions and levels: high, middle, low.

The element time explores fast and slow, pause, beat, pace and pulse.
In Creative Dance we make up our movements while we dance -
we improvise.

To develop movement-material we focus on the elements of dance:
body, space, force and time.

Creative dance moves between solo, partner and group dances.
Free movement takes away the pressure which technical movement skills often put on the dance experience.
The joy of movement and dance is preserved and we gain
(or preserve) a positive self-image of “I can dance”.
